  • LiveJournal

    I've officially transferred to LiveJournal.
    katoumiharu.livejournal.com :)
I couldn't find any way to transfer my archives here to there.
I'm still going to check this one every now and then but I won't update.
Imma try if transferring to LJ is worth it.
    Meanwhile, I've totally fine.
    Just exhausted and tired.

    Bye bye

  • M2M

So basically, tonight's update will be long~
    Many to mention.
    So prepare yourselves. LOL
Well things might get random but whatever. Haha.
Lots of topics so try to absorb it. LOL

So I decided to download the song that my cousin told me to listen to because Miley Cyrus was in it.
    I downloaded it...listened to it...didn't like it.
    Yeap, didn't like it.
Now, I decided to see if there was any music video so I could see her.
I found a live performance of the singers.
*Note: I am so not a Miley Cyrus fan (we have our own opinions so don't flood me with flames, mkay? 'Cause that's just plain rude)

    Hmmm, so yeah.
    I've got nothing to say...really.
Watch it and you'll see what I mean.
The song's name is, "Just Stand Up by Mariah Carey, Beyoncé Knowles, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Fergie, Sheryl Crow (only on studio version), Melissa Etheridge (only on studio version), Natasha Bedingfield, Miley Cyrus, Leona Lewis, Carrie Underwood, Keyshia Cole, LeAnn Rimes (only on studio version), Ashanti, Ciara, and Nicole Scherzinger (only on live version)."

Anyways, here is the second thing I wanna show you guys.
Well I was still awake and I decided to read some blogs.
I encountered this blog entry and I think it's something I should show you guys: "Something I saw on a shirt"
It made me realize and think really hard.
It's a really nice blog entry.
Please take time to read it.

Today C came to my house (apartment actually) to do our math project.
Well since I can't go out every friday sundowns till satuday sundown, she decided to come.
We're doing this project about functions.
It's for the Art and Science Fair.
So we only drew the 4 people that involved with "Functions."

The 4th person isn't finished yet.
And I haven't drawn the eyes 'cause I'm having a hard time with eyes.
    I seriously suck at eyes.
I drew the first 2 mathematicians and the last one was drawn by C (left to right).
    Oh and OMG!
C has a new phone and it's the Prada one.
    It is so cool~
I wish I was that rich as they are.
    Well we're poor.
    We have a small apartment.
    As big as our classroom.
Not even as big as our music room.
    Yeah we suck like that.
Anyways, imma make the most out of it.
    Somehow.

It's touch screen and sidekick. Haha.

Oh and yes, me and C like anime a lot. Haha.
No wonder you'll see Lelouch there.
    From the anime, Code Geass.

    Dinner wasn't really pleasant.
    We had a small argument.
Our maid cried 'cause of my freakin' dad.
    Ugh.
It was just a simple 'potato issue.'
    He was scolding the maid.
I mean the way he talked was as if he was going to kill someone!
Yes it is absurd but yes.
No wonder there were no maids that stayed for more than a month in our house.
Yes it was just a potato issue.
I only told my dad that I didn't like the potato because it was hard.
And he began scolding her and telling her that she shouldn't cook like that.
I mean he can tell it a nice way that she wouldn't cry right?
I've asked the previous maids why they wanted to leave.
    Guess what reason they gave.
    It's because of my dad.
    Ugh.
When I was trying to control the talk and all and telling my dad this and that, my heart suddenly hurt for a moment.
    I think i'm high-blooded or something.
We have a line in the family that's high-blood.
My grandmother got stroke because of that.
Oh and today, both me and my sister had our menstruasual time.
    So it means, PMS mode.
No wonder I was that hyped up and angry.
    Well obvious isn't it?
Yes I was also scolding her for criticizing the food too much.
    Well... Here's the thing.
Me and my sister loves to criticize.
Well criticize meaning like being a critic.
    And sometimes she overdo it.
So it gets relaly painful when you hear her criticize.
'Cause everything she sees, she always says something about it.
I told her to limit herself.
But for some reason, I think that's her nature.
    Correction, 'our nature.'
Well we are different from everyone.
It's kinda wrong but we can't avoid it.

So... Imma go to C's house tomorrow to finish our math project.
    It's dues on January 21.
So we only got a few days more.
We can't do it during schools days 'cause we have our exams on the 21st till the 23rd.
We also have our filipino project, which I haven't finished, due on the 19th.
We have to prepare for the BEQuest too.
And not to mention, our outreach progream.
Speaking of outreach program, I ain't going.
    Why?
    Oh wait, before anything first.
    What's outreach program?
Well it's a program where we, students, go to the needy people and help them by giving them food and helping them for a day.
In our case, we're going to feed the aetas and provide some more food and clothing (i think) and etc.
And we're going to re-paint their house.
Their houses isn't as big as our classroom.
My adviser told me it was just half of it.
    And dang! That is small...seriously.
Our class isn't even that big.
So yeah, I'm not even going 'cause it's going to be on a saturday.
    Ugh.
I told my mom about it and she wanted to call from abroad to my adviser just to tell that I'm not going.
I told her that it's helping other people for goodness sake!
    Ugh.
You sometimes I hate the fact that my religion can't help other people!
What's the point of being a christian if this is what you get huh?
I don't even understand my religion.

    Aetas in Clark, Pampanga, Philippines
*Clark, Pampanga, Philippines - where we're going to do the outreach program.

    See my point?
I feel really bad for them and I can't help them?

  • Koreans forces the cancellation of Hetalia

In an outrageous attack on freedom of speech, nationalistic Korean protests have forced the upcoming satirical WWII anime Hetalia Axis Powers off the air entirely; the issue was even taken up in the National Assembly, where the anime was denounced as being “equivalent to criminal conduct”, such was the hysteria against any possible affront to Korea’s dubious claims over Dokdo/Takeshima.

Craven broadcaster Kids Station apparently felt they had no option but to cave in to the Korean claims of “discrimination”, despite the anime apparently not even including the elements which upset the hypersensitive nationalists.

The official announcement of the broadcast’s cancellation is as follows:

"Hetalia Axis Powers was scheduled to commence broadcasting on the 24th of January on Kids Station, but due to circumstances afflicting the broadcast station, the broadcast has been cancelled. To all those who have been looking forward to the broadcast as announced on the homepage and elsewhere, we apologise for this tremendous inconvenience.
We hope you will be understanding over this matter."

Of course, as with any such official announcement, no useful information as to why is included, but with it coming up in the Korean mass media the cause is clearly not in doubt; there are rumours of pressure being applied behind the scenes.

There is one glimmer of hope for fans wishing to avoid Korean censorship: inferior quality distribution by mobile and online streaming will go ahead as announced, likely because these are not handled by yellow broadcaster Kids Station.

The fact that online and mobile distribution has escaped Korea’s wrath will likely come as scant consolation to the makers, who were doubtless hoping for the web comic to finally enter the mainstream.

However, with the colossal negative publicity accruing to Korea over this debacle, we might well expect a very positive effect on sales of the DVD as people explore what all the fuss is about, or opt to support it against censorship. A publicity campaign money can’t buy, indeed.

As explained previously, it seems the locus of Korean outrage was the portrayal of Korea as a nation intent on claiming all and sundry as being either its invention or its territory; the breast grabbing scene where Korea seizes Japan’s chest (thought to represent Dokdo/Takeshima) is the main example of such. Of course, things could hardly be further from the truth?

Naturally, none of the other more reasonable nations lampooned in the series could care less about this wicked “discrimination”…

japanese version (click for larger image)

english version (click for larger image)

The reaction in Japan (excluding the typically supine mass media) is one of predictable consternation, though many are not entirely surprised, given the influence Korea exerts over Japan in many areas, and its constant state of nationalistic outrage.

There are many examples of Korean protests censoring Japanese domestic broadcasts (chiefly drama and the like which somehow manages to upset the influential hyper-nationalist lobby in Korea), though strangely no examples of the converse; in fact, outrageous anti-Japanese propaganda and protest seems to be the order of the day throughout Korea, reaching extremely disturbing levels, even in its schools.

Korean politicians seem ever eager to stoke the flames of hatred against Japan, and even China and America, though such reckless conduct seems unlikely to secure their long term good relations with the rest of the world.

Anything to distract from the plight of their 20 million starving and enslaved countrymen to the north?

    --

    So any violent reactions? LOL
    Just kidding.
Oh well, it was the decision of the higher-ups so we can't do anything about it.
They decided it to be canceled so there will be no further complaints from Korea.
    Anyways, let's respect their decision.
*still in the state of shock/amusement/sadness*
I wasn't really looking forward to it, but I want to watch it since it's been going around DeviantART that it's really good so I wanna wait and see what the new show is going to be.
    My anticipation has been shattered.
    But it's okay.
    They have their reasons anyways.
At least we can still read the comic online right? Haha.
Oh btw, imma post two things tomorrow.
    It's really a 'WTF moment.'
    LMAO

    If...
    You're asking,
    WHAT HETALIA IS?
    Then...

Hetalia Axis Powers (ヘタリア Axis Powers, Hetalia Axis Powers) is a manga and anime series by Hidekaz Himaruya placed in a World War-era setting in which the countries are represented by anthropomorphic characters. Hetalia (ヘタリア, Hetalia) is a made-up word combining hetare (へタレ, hetare) – Japanese for useless – and Italia (イタリア, Italia). This is to make light of Italy's apparent cowardice during World War II.

Himaruya originally created Hetalia as an online webcomic, and so far two tankōbon have been published by Gentosha Comics, the first on March 28, 2008 and the second on December 10, 2008. The series was later adapted into drama CDs, and an anime series to be created by Studio Deen has also been announced.

    [EDIT]

Going back to the thing that I said, they've canceled the broadcast.
So I hope wikipedia edits that last part.

  • Annabel Lee

Our BEQuest (Brightwoods' English Quest) is coming up in a month.
We have these categories: Poetry, Essay, Last Comic standing, Debate, Declamation, Speech Choir Competition, etc.
Speaking of declamation, I've been forced (yes I was forced) to join the elimination round.
    I absolutely, positively dislike declamation.
    Why?
    Ugh. Why you say?
Bad experience gave trauma to me.
I don't want to be embarrassed in front of the whole high school.
That would be such a shame.
Anyways, it's a good thing I wasn't the only one that's part of the elimination round.
We have our top 1, top 6 and top 8 students plus me.
LOL. Don't expect a top on me.
    I have no "top."
I'm like way below the list. Haha.
    Believe me.
    I'm not that smart.
    Just plainly stupid.
Speaking of stupid, *cries* I failed the Ateneo de Manila University entrance exam. *cries*
I WANT TO ENTER THAT UNIVERSITY,
    AND THEN I FREAKIN' FAILED.
That's how stupid I can be.
I freakin' messed up the fucking essay.
And that's like one of the most important thing in the entrance exam.
    FUCK.
Since I've failed that school, I'll be going to De La Salle University.
I passed there with my first choice of course, BS in Computer Science with specialization in Software Technology.
But I'm not sure if that's a BS or something.
    Whatever.
A batch 2007-2008 graduate of my school told me that it's going to be okay though I failed Ateneo and passed La Salle.
Since DLSU (De La Salle University) is one of the top 4 universities in the Philippines.
I passed also the top 4th university of the Philippines which is, University of Santo Tomas.
I don't expect to pass the top 1 university which is, University of the Philippines.
Because out of 100,000 that applies there only 10,000 is picked.
And there's a minimal chance of getting to the main campus of UP.
So I don't want to get my hopes high.
And besides, even if I pass there I probably won't go there since I picked the lamest campus. LOL
Getting back to BEQuest, we have to this speech choir competition.
So another piece to memorize for it.
Our piece is "Annabel Lee by Edgar Allan Poe.

    --

    Annabel Lee
    by Edgar Allan Poe

It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
    By the name of Annabel Lee;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.

I was a child and she was a child,
    In this kingdom by the sea;
But we loved with a love that was more than love-
    I and my Annabel Lee;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
    Coveted her and me.

And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
    My beautiful Annabel Lee;
So that her highborn kinsman came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchre
In this kingdom by the sea.

The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
    Went envying her and me-
Yes!- that was the reason (as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.

But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we-
Of many far wiser than we-
And neither the angels in heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
    Of the beautiful Annabel Lee.

For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams
    Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes
    Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling- my darling- my life and my bride,
In the sepulchre there by the sea,
In her tomb by the sounding sea.

    --

Some say that Annabel Lee isn't true, some say it is.
Whether it was true or not, the poem is quite nice. Haha.
I think Edgar was so in-love here with that someone.
My teacher told me that Edgar can only write something when he's drunk.
So he was called the Drunken Poet or something.
I totally forgot but it's something like that.
That's kinda weird you know, but cool at the same time. LOL

Hmmm, so I think that's it. I guess. Haha
