Our BEQuest (Brightwoods' English Quest) is coming up in a month. We have these categories: Poetry, Essay, Last Comic standing, Debate, Declamation, Speech Choir Competition, etc. Speaking of declamation, I've been forced (yes I was forced) to join the elimination round. I absolutely, positively dislike declamation. Why? Ugh. Why you say? Bad experience gave trauma to me. I don't want to be embarrassed in front of the whole high school. That would be such a shame. Anyways, it's a good thing I wasn't the only one that's part of the elimination round. We have our top 1, top 6 and top 8 students plus me. LOL. Don't expect a top on me. I have no "top." I'm like way below the list. Haha. Believe me. I'm not that smart. Just plainly stupid. Speaking of stupid, *cries* I failed the Ateneo de Manila University entrance exam. *cries* I WANT TO ENTER THAT UNIVERSITY, AND THEN I FREAKIN' FAILED. That's how stupid I can be. I freakin' messed up the fucking essay. And that's like one of the most important thing in the entrance exam. FUCK. Since I've failed that school, I'll be going to De La Salle University. I passed there with my first choice of course, BS in Computer Science with specialization in Software Technology. But I'm not sure if that's a BS or something. Whatever. A batch 2007-2008 graduate of my school told me that it's going to be okay though I failed Ateneo and passed La Salle. Since DLSU (De La Salle University) is one of the top 4 universities in the Philippines. I passed also the top 4th university of the Philippines which is, University of Santo Tomas. I don't expect to pass the top 1 university which is, University of the Philippines. Because out of 100,000 that applies there only 10,000 is picked. And there's a minimal chance of getting to the main campus of UP. So I don't want to get my hopes high. And besides, even if I pass there I probably won't go there since I picked the lamest campus. LOL Getting back to BEQuest, we have to this speech choir competition. So another piece to memorize for it. Our piece is "Annabel Lee by Edgar Allan Poe.

Annabel Lee by Edgar Allan Poe
It was many and many a year ago, In a kingdom by the sea, That a maiden there lived whom you may know By the name of Annabel Lee; And this maiden she lived with no other thought Than to love and be loved by me.
I was a child and she was a child, In this kingdom by the sea; But we loved with a love that was more than love- I and my Annabel Lee; With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven Coveted her and me.
And this was the reason that, long ago, In this kingdom by the sea, A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling My beautiful Annabel Lee; So that her highborn kinsman came And bore her away from me, To shut her up in a sepulchre In this kingdom by the sea.
The angels, not half so happy in heaven, Went envying her and me- Yes!- that was the reason (as all men know, In this kingdom by the sea) That the wind came out of the cloud by night, Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.
But our love it was stronger by far than the love Of those who were older than we- Of many far wiser than we- And neither the angels in heaven above, Nor the demons down under the sea, Can ever dissever my soul from the soul Of the beautiful Annabel Lee.
For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams Of the beautiful Annabel Lee; And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes Of the beautiful Annabel Lee; And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side Of my darling- my darling- my life and my bride, In the sepulchre there by the sea, In her tomb by the sounding sea.

Some say that Annabel Lee isn't true, some say it is. Whether it was true or not, the poem is quite nice. Haha. I think Edgar was so in-love here with that someone. My teacher told me that Edgar can only write something when he's drunk. So he was called the Drunken Poet or something. I totally forgot but it's something like that. That's kinda weird you know, but cool at the same time. LOL
